Get a reliable service technician to look at it. You probably have a coolant leak.
You likely need the system pressure checked. AC units stop getting COLD when the Freon or other refigerant is running low. This is typically done by a tradesman in that field of endeavor. Plumbers will usually handle heating/AC too. It could also be a defective (squirrel cage) FAN in the base unit. Of course check your thermostat. See that it is showing the correct temperature.
Good luck!
if everything runs fan and all it probably needs recharged with coolant
definitely have it serviced, I'm pretty sure your freons level are low and/or possible leaks. this make a huge difference in cool comfort and higher than usual electric bills since your A/C use more energy and take longer to cool your house. And continue to replace and/or clean your filter on a regular basis (every 10-15 days) it sure help for good maintenance.
I fix a lot of air conditioners on FindHomeAnswers but I need more information. Is outside unit running, is it a windows unit, is the indoor unit running, has it ever cooled your house... questions like these.
I except email.
