open up some windows. At one end of your house, put a window fan in a window, blowing out at medium speed. T the other end of the house, put a window fan in it, blowing in at medium speed. A burst of air fresh some ware between will help, but mainley, just let them blow all day long.
Repeat process as needed.
Ionic Breeze from Sharper Image.
~~Try opening your windows ~~
open the windows and open your front door on a nice and breezy day. Fresh air is the best air for house purification.
$$- buy an air purifier at like walmart or target.
to save $$- keep windows open in the summer time. Use fans to keep the breeze flowing. Wash your sheets, vacuum floors, and dust every week. It doesn't hurt to fubreeze once a week also. There are ones without the strong scent.
buy an air purifier.
i have a couple & it works wonders in my house.
Many people go with portable room-sized air cleaners, either the silent ionic type from someone like Sharper Image that have no filters, or the HEPA-style cleaners that use a fan to draw air through a permanent (washable) or replacable (non-washable) filter. The HEPA will likely do a better job pulling out smaller particles (dust, pollen, smoke, etc.) than the Ionic-style, but both will make a noticable difference in the quality of the room air.
Another option if you have a central heating or a/c unit (with ducts and vents going to each room) is to install a "whole house" filter. This is a larger bolt-on unit that supplements or replaces the existing 1" thick air screen type filter that most home HVAC blower units have. There are even models that include a UV light to kill bacteria and viruses in the air as it passes by (you can find wall-mounted versions of these germ-killing lights in restaurant kitchens, hospitals, etc as well).
Expect to pay at least $150 for a decent room-sized unit that won't keep you up at night, and at least $500 or more (even $2000+ if you have a big house) for a professionally-installed whole-house air cleaner.
Of course, you could always just walk around with a $2 mask on :)
using an air cleaner with a HEPA filter is your best bet, many air cleaner do not have that feature, an ion air cleaner tends to cost more and will need to be cleaned more often..
I would look into high end filters for my air conditioning unit. You can do a lot with the air in your house by "conditioning" it.
Place small bowls of vinegar throughout your house. The vinegar attracts and gets rid of odors.
You can always buy those little air purifiers at almost any store! I hear they work pretty good! I mean they are not going to completely filter and clean your air but they will definitely help a little!
Get a whole house electrostatic filter added to your HVAC system. They also make either UV or ultrasonic purifiers for your HVAC system. If you own the house, there is no reason to buy a quadra or ionic breeze that only does one room. The HVAC purifiers work on the same principle and clean the air for the whole house. The do cost money, but if you live in farm country.what else are you going to do?
Inexpensive solution - that I've used for years and know dozens of other people that use it. It is a natural carbon product called FRIDGE IT carbon odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates the odors and for a long time. It works so much better than baking soda all those sprays, and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Also, alot of sprays have warning statements about being eye irritant. and gels and oils that say keep away from fabric, pets, etc. and just don't eliminate odors. Just place a few around problem areas. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it and internet. Definitely worth trying.
