Plumber and Painter cost?

Question:Located in Boston, plumber wants 75.00/hr to hook up new sink, dishwasher disposal, painter wants 45.00/hr to prep and paint kitchen.. Does this sound reasonable, or should i get more estimates...

Answers:
sounds about right but I would get it bid at a job price that's the way I bid My jobs as a painter I won't work by the hour

The painter is fairly good. Look for a better plumber though.
These are VERY good numbers in your market. Don't pay anyone in advance but, go with these figures. And what 'FredS' said too. Buy the job, not the rate.
Painter price is about right in your area, I live in Maine and we charge a little less than that, but this is a different market. Also, if it is new work a job price is standard practice. If it is a remodel or a house where some one lives, pricing may be by the hour.
i am a plumber in Delaware. we are flat rate. and most of the time our prices will = 150+ an hour. but we always satisfy
