What happens to the air conditioning unit if you don't take the cover off?
Question:
Answers:
All air conditioning units need air to travel across the evaporator coil (indoor) and condenser coil (outdoor) in order to operate correctly. If you did not remove the cover the unit will not operate correctly and will also run on high head pressure.
I don't know how long the system ran this way but if you corrected the problem quickly then it shouldn't have caused damage.
If you ran it a long time you may have damaged the equipment or at least shorted its life.
might over heat. if it's running OK now, I wouldn't worry about it.
Chances are, it will burn out. The unit needs to have circulating air around it. It definitely won't cool as well.
if you mean the outside cover that you put on for the winter,no airflow will go thru the condensor and it will overheat
