You need to have a repairman come out to take a look. On your thermostat you will have the selection of fan "on" instead of "auto." By turning it to on you will be able to keep the air circulating throughout the house and keep it a little cooler.

Call the AC repairman

Thanxs for the points tanga
Keep your blinds closed. Ceiling fans on. Lights off. Don't run any appliances you don't have to.
If it gets cool at night, open as many windows as possible, if you have a window fan, put the fan in one of the windows to draw out the warm air. You need a cross-breeze to remove the heat.

During the day, close the windows and the blinds. Turn off all electric appliances, including fans. Run a fan only when you are in the home; the fan motor actually adds heat to the room.

If you are in a dry climate, try an evaporative cooler. Drink plenty of water. Doesn't need to be cool, just drink water.

Wear a loose-fitting cotton shirt and soak it with water. As the water evaporates, you will cool down. If this is not convenient, try a small cotton towel or cotton cloth around the neck.

If you live in a humid area, keep the windows closed and use a dehumidifier.

If you have harsh sunlight shining on the south side of your house, try hanging a shade on the eave so that there is a space with a shadow near the window. Don't block airflow, just the sun.

Don't use the oven, microwave, coffee/tea maker, dryer or toaster. Eat salads, cold cuts, jello, ice cream, fresh fruit.

If you have an attic, go up at night and check to see that the vents are open, and clear of obstructions. If you have an attic fan that sucks warm air out, turn it on.

Think Kool thoughts.
