New Home with dirty sock scent.?

Question:My Husband and I moved into a new home a month ago and today we noticed a dirty sock scent. We can't figure out where it is coming from. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. We don't have air conditioning, and today was 93 degrees. Should we call an exterminator, mold expert, etc..

Answers:
use frebreeze

Lots more info is needed here. Is the odor all over the house? Just in the basement? Is there even a basement? Is the house really just built? If so the concrete may still need some curing time. When a new foundation is poured it really should sit to cure for 30 days before being built on. In todays rapid sell market this never happens, They usually are building on the foundation within the same week. This does not allow for the moisture to completely leave the concrete. You may need to thoroughly dehumidify the basement.
new home, 93 degrees and no air conditioning? what happened?
Well, I've been installing heat and air for 30 years and normally, when I get call with "dirty sock odor", I know it's a mold in the unit's insulation, and I know it's a heat pump, gas heat doesn't have the problem.
Not sure of what you have that is making the air move in your home, but it has something to do with mold drying out somewhere, window unit(s), crawl space, attic, if it's a new home, try to get a home inspection from a reputable company
they should be able to locate the problem.
I assume your new home has some kind of warranty...get the general contractor/developer involved.

I remember our first new home had some interesting debrie left in the duct work..that the developer came back and took care of!!

Good luck.
I'm with Ken B on this one, get the builder involved. I;ve heard numerous horror stories about the things found within walls and ceilings in new construction.
