How do i clean out stuff in my air ducts?

Question:My daughter shoved a bunch of clothes down an air duct in her room. I drops down 10 feet then veers off at a 45 degree angle I've gotten all the stuff out i can but how do i get the rest of it out without tearing up my duct work? Can those duct cleaner guys get it out?

Answers:
This might be silly, but have you tried the hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner? It might work.
If not, call an HVAC company. They will get out for you in no time.
I hope your daughter is just a young one who didn't know any better.but my question is, how did she get the vent off?? :)

Sure, and charge you an arm, leg and $400 to boot.
You'd be better off going to the hardware store a 25 foot fishtape, if it has a hook "bend" on the end, fine, if not have the store guy bend it for you, then stick it down the vent and hook your clothes.
It depends on what kind of duct you have. If it's flex then you can tear it up. If it's metal with insulation on the inside, you can tear it up too. If it's metal with the insulation on the outside, then you shouldn't be able to tear it up fishing something through it if it's put together correctly. If your capable, you can take it apart yourself and put it back together. If not, then call an HVAC company as they shouldn't charge as much as a duct cleaner.
