My tefal steam iron is very intermittent when heating heat up the steam?

Question:My TEFAL pressure steam iron sometimes doesnt heat the steam, sometimes it works until the water gets warm then shuts the steam off.

Answers:
it sounds like the thermostat is faulty buy a new iron
you can only get steam if enough heat is applied to the water to make water turn to steam at 100c, this is not happening but as water getting warm element is working but not enough, therefore something preventing flow of electricity to heater after time therefore thermostat pulling in too soon

Are you using distilled water in it, it may be messed up with calcium, you can get chemicals to remove the calcium, failing that, it could be the thermostat setting.

(I can't believe I just answered this question, I must get out more, there are birds singing outside, and the sun's shining ODD)
