Question:i want to buy 950 watts gasoline generator. Can anyone explain what appliance i can run on 950 watts ?

Answers:
You'll be ok with a television, computer, plenty of lighting, maybe even a small vacuum cleaner. Read the labels on your equipment to ensure it is within the generator's rating. It's a relatively small generator, so the loads must be light.

I have much more information on home generators on my web page, including some power requirements.

As generators go, that is fairly small. But it is sufficient to run an assortment of lamps, and various appliances such as a stereo system or computer. You cannot run things such as cooking appliances with a power plant that small.
What do you want to run? look at the appliance and it shoud l have a tag as to where you got it
If you check the label on an appliance it should have the consumption written there.
950 watts is pretty small. Somewhere in the ballpark of 10 - 20kW is probably about what you'd need to comfortably power an entire home.

Anything with a heating element or motor will use suck down lots of juice. A quick google search revealed this fairly comprehensive list:

950 watts. Leaves a blowdryer out.
