What is it about landlords...?
Question:Why do they seem to NEVER want to fix, ANYTHING!?
I mean, why have property if you don't want to keep it nice?
Answers:
Hire a repair man and send them the bill...
Because you're already paying them for it. HAHA!
they have bills too, stay busy, and put "small" things aside. just don't pay until you get your needs fixed.
Most Landlords will do necessary repairs to their properties. Yes, some are very slack and ignore tenants complaints! If you do have an ongoing problem that you have addressed to your landlord but he continues to ignore the request (especially plumbing & heating problems), then contact your local Rentals Board about your complaint. The Rentals Board is there to help both you & the landlord and there are laws which both must comply with. Especially if you have paid a security deposit for the Apt. you are renting. GOOD LUCK!
most landlords see property as an investment and repair is part of protecting same. is your rent paid up to date and consistent. even in the projects the work orders say rent must be current before repairs are made. i have found immediately after having rent collection problems, the list of repairs smokescreen arrives and grows
Don't lump all landlords in that category. There are always a few that seem to take forever, however many are extremely prompt and do a good job.
Landlords must be carefull as many tenants do an excessive amount of damage and theft to the rental places.
I rented a place to a couple and when they left (with out providing me the 30 day notice) they removed all the lights and fans that were mounted in the ceiling.
