What will happen if aroom air conditioner is turned sideways to get into the house?
Question:The air conditioner is brand new and the tech said the freon is misplaced and it will take about 24 hrs for it to get back to normal is this true?

what do you mean by side ways. if you are just turning it that should be OK. if you are laying it down then yes you need to wait a few hours. unless its only for a few seconds. We had a refrigerator delivered once and they had it laying down in the truck. we had to wait 24 hours before we could plug it in,
BS on that, Leave it sit for maybe an hour, All the oil will drain back to where its supposed to be.

I would think if you turn it sideways, walk through the doorway real fast and then up right the unit, You should be OK...
But, if you have to hold the unit like that for an extended period of time, Yes I would let the unit sit right side up for 24 hours before turning it on....
Let the a/c sit for maybe an hour or so, then it should be okay It shouldn't take 24 hrs. to get back to normal if it wasn't on its side for very long.
false answer,try turning him upside down and see how long it takes him to recuperate.just hook it up it will work fine.
