Whenever I flip the switch to turn on my pool nothing happens. What do I do?

If you hear no humming coming from the pump it is most likely a loss of power. The breaker suggestion is good, and likely correct, and is what you should examine first. If the breaker is on, then check the pump motor itself. You may find a small red reset button at its base, if so, push button with the power switch to off and then try. Water and power are obviously a potential risk, I live in FL and there are multiple cases each year of deaths due to inexperienced attempts at repair. Other than those two options I would strongly suggest calling a licensed electrician. Best of luck.
