Is there a way to repair a leak in a fish pond that would not be toxic to the fish?

Question:it's one of those pre-molded black plastic fish ponds that you can buy at Home Depot and it's developed a leak somewhere. So I need to empty it, clean it it, dry it, repair the crack or leak, and then let that set and dry, then refill it and put the fish back in. I don't want to use something that would be toxic to the fish.

Answers:
BONDO

Yes! I forget the name, but it can be purchased at the pet store. It's a rubberized clear glue that comes in a tube and is made especially for repairing glass tanks. It's totally non toxic!
It sounds to me you are on the right track if you are worried about harming the fish try lining the pond with a very heavy sheet of plastic or perhaps go to yuor local roofing company and see if you could purchase a piece of rubber roofing material to line the pond with I have done this and it works very well and has been there now for almost ten years.
Pet supply stores carry silicone for fish tanks that is not harmfull to the fish. Depending on what you find when you dry and clean it, you may need to put a patch on it using the silicone.
Any silicon sealer would work. Spread a thin layer with a putty knife and put a piece of fiberglass window screen over the top and then another layer of silicon. It dosen't need to be very thick. Let it dry a couple of days before you fill.
