I think i have a leak in my above ground pool? How do I find it and patch it?

Question:

Answers:
Ok what you do is get yourself a syringe (no needle at the end), the type you get a drug store to give liquid medicine to an infant.
Second, fill the syringe with a dark color food coloring dye.
Walk around the outside of the pool first and see if you can find any water source around the area. Mushy wet, means yes, you have a leak.
Third, go into pool and walk around and around till you get to the center feeling for mushy, soft spots. When you think you have found a soft spot, release some of the dye in the area of question and if there is a hole, the dye will be sucked up, drawn in, to the hole.
Also check near seams, skimmer, and walls.
When you have located the hole, get a vinyl underwater repair kit. You can get them at Walmart, Kmart, any pool supply store. Follow directions. Real easy. Finding the hole is the hard part.
Remember you do loose some water during evaporation.

you may never find a leak, but if your adding alot of water, it's shot. prepare to replace in the fall or spring.
A good idea to find the leak is to get a spray bottle and fill it with soapy water. When you spray it on the leak, it should make a bubble of soap. I don't know how to patch it though...
