I install a new ceiling fan and its making a humming noise how can I fix it?

Question:

Answers:
A humming noise is generally caused by the motor itself its the magnets within the motor it self caused by the a/c line if it does not stop by itself than i would take the fan back to replace it they are made so cheep these days

It could be you installed it without the shock mounts. I have a celing fan in the kitchen that came without shock mounts but I needed it so I installed it anyway... and it humms... and humms and humms.
Either live with it or better yet, take it back and get a quality fan that is quiet.
If you have adjusted it properly and it still hums, you need to upgrade to a better line or be willing to listen to the hum.
