How to increase the gas pressure in the gas lines ?
Question:I have recently done a new kitchen in my home -
new stove etc -
The gas pressure in the gas line is too low in the new kitchen
however gas pressure is fine in the other kitchen , gas gyser etc but the pressure is not good in my new kitchen -
I have had it checked by a pro and he says that I should put in a new line -
But first I want to see if there is any way to increase the pressure in the existing line ?
At present the gas pressure is just enough to lit up a single burner , just blue flame / fire - but its not doing any good - heating nothing and going off every few minutes.

There's nothing you can do except get a new supply line installed. The pressure in the gas lines is regulated by the gas company. The existing line doesn't deliver enough gas to operate everything that is drawing from it.
I had a similar situation in a home I am doing some work on. I am in the process of finishing a basement. The customer wanted a gas log fireplace installed. Their gas supply was to small for the additional load. The options from the fireplace contractor were to install a separate supply line from the gas meter, or replace the supply line with 1 inch pipe. A separate line would have looked terrible from outside, and limited options for future renovations. So they decided to replace the supply line from the meter all the way through the house. Any other option will not be safe and probably be a building code violation.
do like the pro says and get a new line
what else is there you can do
apart from use a new gas line
you could buy a bottle of butane gas
and a bottle end connected regulator
with the appropiate rubber tubes for that gas
so it wont start deteriorating
a friend of mine lives in accomadation that does not allow mains gas, only electric,so he uses a fairly large gas cooker/oven rigged up that way instead,he cannot cook with electric the food dries out quicker when its being cooked with electric,so he says
and its much cheaper than using the electric
it is not the pressure that is the problem but the volume of gas is insufficient to take care of your new stove/range have a licensed and bonded plumber/gas fitter come in and increase the size of your gas line.Natural gas is a very dangerous commodity and should be handled by a professional this is not a DIY project.
Who ever did your kitchen should have to pay for a larger line to be installed. Call the contractor and try to work with him. If he is not willing to work with you then you should contact your state agency that regulates contractors and file a complaint.
Did this guy get permits when he did the job? If so file a complaint with the permitting agency. If not you are now liable for not getting a permit.
The only way to fix this is to install a larger gas line. You are not getting the volume of gas needed for the appliance. Get a licensed plumber to run a new larger line.
