Our GE fridge model GSS22SGPSS has an ice maker. We can get water from outside the door, but not ice cubes.?

Question:We think since we bought it used, yesterday, that somehow the metal bar (rod) under the ice bucket in the freezer, should go into "something" to make the "auger" spin to push out the ice. It is not "connected to anything". Would anyone know FOR SURE what the inside looks like that it would connect to? I went to www.repairclinic.com and have no idea which part is needed. Can you email me a pic to show me what that bar slips into? Thanks!
