Can the electric company disconnect your electric to you home in the summer months?
Question:
Answers:
No, legally they may only disconnect you in months which have an R in them.
Sure they can.
if you dont pay your bill yes...unless you have a senior citizen living with you or you are pregnant. some states wont allow it if those apply to you..but if its because you didnt pay your bill ..yes they can
Of course they can!
give them a reason to do so and they will, they dont care how hot or cold it is outside.
Of course, if you don't pay. You can still get your car repossesed in the summer as well.
In general, yes, especially if you have a summer home and you won't be in your home during those months.
But it might be easier just to shut off the circuit breakers. My parents have a summer home and at least with the phone after a while they found that with all of the disconnect/reconnect fees it was better just to leave the phone connected than to go through the hassle of disconnecting it.
The power in your area may be similar. Best bet would be to call them and find out if you have to be home when a technician comes to disconnect or reconnect, find out if there are fees each time, basically how much hassle you have to endure to have it done, then decide if it's worth it.
If you don't pay the bill or at least make payment arrangements, then YES!
Yes, the loss of power in any type of condition is not restricted, because it is assumed that there are other means available to achieve comfort, or at least survive. Water is another story.
faster than the temp rises.
oh yeah if you don't pay your bill then don't think they won't
I forgot to pay my bill once, it cost me 150.00 plus my whatever my bill was to get them turned back on, haven't ever forgot to pay then since then
If you have not paid the bill or made arrangements to make installments, then yes unless you have a medical reason (asthma or any upper respitory problems, on oxygen, have a sr. citizen or infant living with you, etc.)
the electric companies in some states can cut your power off in any month if you do not pay your bill...where i am from (KY) any utility will cut your service off once you are thrity days overdue on your payments ...then you have to pay reconect fees and service call for them to trun it back on...
