Craftsman 6.75 HP Lawn Mower 22 Inch Power Gear Drive?
Question:When I use the pull cord there is no resistance in the flywheel.
The flywheel turns freely but there is no engagement into whatever starts the engine.
The pull cord does retract.
Is it dead?
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to any Sears service center and they will have the exploded schematics of the parts and you should be able to see the parts that you need. They can also be found in the instruction book that came with the mower. Most likely, the crank is not engaging when the rope is pulled.
Remove the starter assembly for the engine, there are just a few small screws/botls holding it in place. Clean it and put some wd-40 on it. Make sure when you pull the cord the "dogs" come out. Put it back together and your good to go. sometimes you can get the wd-40 in the right spot without removing the assembly. Go to Parts at sears.com type in the model number of the mower and it will show a diagram of the mower including the starter assembly. This will give you an idea of how to take it apart and what is sticking.
