Follow-up question about C/A?

Question:My unit is in the direct sunlight, and it's been EXTREMELY hot for the last few days. I've heard that these units need to be installed in the shade, or to make a platform to cover it to keep some of the heat off. Could this have caused the switch to flip off??

Answers:
No that should have an effect. We have 100s of 1000s of unit installed on roof tops (in florida). They can take it! You prob have a condenser problem. Compressor, fan motor or something similar. Stop fighting it and give someone a call for repair.
