My mower cord is stuck.?
Question:I was in the middle of mowing and my mower died. I checked gas and oil - added a little oil and tried to start it again. The cord won't pull out now.

I am assuming that the safety bale is released and the cord won't pull out. It may be just dirt clogging the rewind, or (hopefully not) the engine is ceased. If ceased, it may release when cool, but the damage is done. The only thing you can do is replace the engine if that is the case - repairing it would cost more than replacing it. You can sometimes find good engines on eBay cheap.
Could be one of a couple things. the cord is stuck on something; the spring has uncoiled; the cord is broken. If you are good at repairing little things like this, take it apart and check it out. If not, a small engine repair shop should be able to help you out. Good Luck!
Same thing happened to me last year. I had to get it fixed at a repair shop, because I didn't know anybody who could help me.

First, remove the spark plug wire and tip the mower, airfilter up, and make sure there is nothing stuck in the blade. Hold the engine brake lever down and try to turn the engine using the blade, again make sure the spark plug wire is off the plug. If it turns and the cord still doesn't work you will have to remove the starter assembly from the engine. The cord could be caught up in the assembly.
