How do I clean knife/blade?

Question:

Answers:
If it doesn't have a wood handle, run it through the dishwasher and dry it off carefully, then oil as described on your other questions.

If it has a wood handle, or you don't have a dishwasher, wash it the way you would wash your dishes. If it is corroded, use 0000 steel wool to polish the face of the knife. Don't use an SOS pad, just plain steel wool. It will take a little time, but you won't scratch the surface with the 0000 wool.

very carefully

try clorox wipes or if it has rust, you can put tabasco sauce on it,let it sit for a few hours and the rust will scrub right off.
rinse it and use a scratcher to get stuff off of it, cleaning it from the non-sharp side. I use alcohol to sterilize it.
