I lost power on a part of my house all on the same circuit breaker.?

Question:After tripping the switch nothing happens. Any ideas how to fix?

Answers:
Your breaker is designed to trip when the current/amps exceed the rating of that breaker. Reset the breaker by turning it off and back on. If it trips immediately, you either have;
-a short in the wiring
-too much current draw on that circuit caused by too many things being plugged in (especially things like an iron, curling iron, toaster, coffee pot, etc.)
-a faulty breaker.

Are you sure it's not a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) breaker? If it's a GFCI then there will be a white or yellow button on the breaker used to reset it. The GFCI breakers are required for circuits that supply power to outside outlets, bathrooms and certain parts of a kitchen.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

switch off and switch it on back, if still theres no power then suspect a broken line or the breaker contacts are broken, then it should be replaced.
My sister had the same thing happen in her home. Half of her home had power, half did not. It was a few years ago, and I do not remember the cause, but I do know that she called the power company to come and do some testing. As I recall, it was not a major problem and was repaired within a day or two.
take a voltage test and test each breaker load side could be a bad breaker if its bad even resetting it will not trip it back on also check main lines that come into the panel you should have 120 on each wire 'phase' and 220 across the 'phase's' if you don't call your power co to check it out
Try tripping the circuit all the way to the off position and back on again. I run a handyman service and have had to "fix" many a blown circuit over the years. Very often people don't reset the circuit when they try to turn it back on. On the other hand it could be that the circuit breaker is bad. If you are not comfortable changing the circuit on your own I would recommend that you call a qualified electrician. I do not think it would be wise for me to describe to you how to change out a circuit if you don't already know how, electricity can be dangerous
looks like you have too many load on one circuit. see if you can allocate some of the load to another circuit. it will be handy if you can measure the load at the brkr panel using clamp ammeter.
