Built a deck not sure how to attach stringers?

Question:

Answers:
There are some great hangers on the market just for that purpose. They are galvanized. Your stringer basically sits inside the hanger. One tip, if you use these, and they are recommended, put a nail into EVERY hole available.

Check at Lowes or Home Depot.

Check the link below for joist hangers.

go to home depot they will set you up
Assuming you are talking about the stair stringers? There are a variety of ways for properly securing them, and it depends on what point of the deck and how you built the deck. Honestly, building a deck is not as easy as just throwing some wood together and there are a lot of safety issues involved. If you don't know the basics you should seek advice from a qualified carpenter in your area and not ask questions like these on a message board where you will get all sorts of answers from people who don't even know what stringers etc. are.
Good luck.
I am going to assume you have cut your stringers proper firstly? then at the top tread reduce the depth by 1 1/2 inches (if all your treads are 10" make the top one 8 1/2") then attach a 2x6 or appropriate size across the back of the stringers which will make your top tread 10" again. Then attach to the framing of your deck.
