What is the best way to run my Air Conditioner?

Question:I live in Fresno Ca, and the temp in the summer can reach over 110. Now is it better to run the AC all day on a low tempature, than it is to open all the windows in the morning until all the cool morning air is gone and then close up and turn on the AC.

On some days the house is at 90 degrees when i do this but i crank it up to 82-84.

which is better air all day or air when its too hot?

Answers:
To avoid a brown out, again, I would suggest opening the windows when it is the coolest, late night or early morning. Try using a window fan for the late morning, and turn on the AC only if you are at risk for a stroke or other medical problem. During the hottest part of the day everyone and their brothers are going to have that AC cranked. Do yourself a favor and aclimate to the weather as much as possible. If the power goes out you will be better prepared for the heat.

So what do you think?

There are many factors you have left out of your "?" This depends on your exposure to the sun ,whether or not you open your windows. If you have wall units or central air . I live in a humid climate on the east coast. I personally like the house cool. Not sticky. If you keep your windows cracked in the morning that's fine ,but keep your blinds shut when the exposure of the sun hits those windows . The sun generates heat . If you turn your Air on & off freakwently your bill will crank up try to keep it at a constant, Another factor Insulation do you have any?Another factor = windows are they new & or Insulated ? I hope I helped you out.Good Luck!
Hi you should run your ac all day. Be sure you put on the auto and cool position .I will set at a temp. between 78 to 80 . At night you can lower the temp. if you want to. This will help your electricity bill. Just run it all day.
