The second rain chain is actually chain links. Or copper wire bent to hold together. If you like this one it would be easy to make. Go to your local hardware dealer and buy copper wire and then bend and hook them together. There are a large variety. To go a cheaper route you can make one out of cedar or red wood and use an exterior glue. Cut the shapes you want to put together and glue, but you'll still need I would suggest copper chain to attach these to gether. If you can imagine it you can make it. My wife also suggested things you'd find in the garden area. That are made to be in the weather. Find something you like and then attach them to each other. They have buckets there as well as other pretty items.
Buy 2nd hand if possible.
