My Broken window air conditioner Is not Cooling Anymore?
Question:This Window air conditioner is only 2 years old and is a maytag. all of a sudden it stopped cooling. The fan works and so does everything else. The air just isan't being cooled.

THAT UNIT WILL HAVE A 5YR WARRANTY ON THE SEALED SYSTEM. INSPECT IT AND IF YOU SEE NOTHING WRONG, CALL THE MAYTAG SERVICE PHONE AND GIVE THEM MODEL AND SERIAL SO YOU CAN VERIFY WTY STATUS AND GET THEM TO FIX IT UNDER WTY.

take the panel off the front or back and that may be plug ed with dirt or dust rinse it off Waite till dry and then put it back
it might need a charge call the store have them come out if not go to Lowe's and get a new one it might be to small for you now you might need a bigger one like 12,000BTU or even more depending on the room you are cooling
you might have a bad capacitor, or low on freon,you should have a warranty,call the store.
needs to be cleaned and recharged prolly!

Check warranty, if it's expired you're out of luck. The cost involved in a service call or repair on these small units is definitely more then the cost of a new replacement. Most causes are either low refrigerant charge or the compressor is faulty. The thermostat is another culprit!
