How do i get rid of a terrible smell that i have from a sewer leak?
Question:i had sewer water leaking into earth for a few months. its no longer wet so i can't use a wet vac. aside from digging up the earth what can i put there to kill the smell.

Well, I hope you had the pipe repaired first!
You can try using a garden sprayer with with a mild dish soap and spray the area and let it dry, be sure not to walk bare footed in the area because of the bacteria that will make you sick, and don't let pets come in your house either. You will find that the grass will be greener on your side of the fence. ha ha!! It may take a year to be fully safe to walk on. check with your local extension office for more detailed information.
try spreading fresh not used coffee grounds around if you dont mind the smell of coffee.
If its outside you can buy a bag of "lime" at Lowes or Home Deot to spread over that spot.
Lime naturally kills odor. Thats why they cover bodies in mass graves with it..

Apply douche to the smelly area. Baking soda may also help.
Buddy go get you some lime and put on it spread real good lol it will work. You can find at any co-op or farmers market or hardware stores . Also Wal-Mart has it lol.
