Kenmore HE3 gas dryer self-repair?
Question:Great machine, so is the washer. I keep the dryer vent clean, but, what really bugs me is the "paddles" or "fins" inside the dryer drum which help to turn and fluff the clothes as they dry. If you own one, you know, the fins are translucent plastic. They collect lint. They are really FULL of lint and there is no immediately apparent method to take them off, empty and clean them and replace them. I've looked on line, and even considered buying a repair manual, but am hesitant to do so, just to learn how to remove the "fins" in the drum to clean them. Anyone know the magic answer? THANKS.

Instead of just posting a link and having to search for an answer I'll tell you exactly what to do right here. Disconnect power to the machine, you'll have to get behind the dryer enough to remove four screws holding the top down, pull top forward and off, now the drum is exposed and you will be able to remove at the top of the drum 2 to 3 screws that hold the vane to the drum. Remove the screws while holding the vane, when it is free clean out the lint and reinstall. Turn the drum by hand clockwise to get the next vane to the top. I have worked on hundreds of Whirlpool and Kenmore dryers in the past and they all suffer from the problem you describe. The vanes don't seal to the drum good enough to prevent lint from entering. I've pulled coins, bills, etc from those vanes.
