How the hell do i replace the belt on a beltsander?

Question:3inx21in and its just short do i just have to work it on there or is there a trick or way to do it. first time thanks

Answers:
There is usually a lever on the side of the sander that you pull out which releases the tension on the belt. You can then take the belt off and replace it with a new one. Then push the lever back to tighten again.

****Make sure that you have the arrow on the new belt (noted inside the belt) is going forward. Some belts have the arrows, some don't.

Good Luck !

there should be a tensioner screw or leaver. Loosen it to slide the belt on, then raise the tension so that it gets tight again.
Phone your local handyman's shop and ask.My one has bolts you undo, and it goes over, and I tighten the bolts. Don't know what sort yours is?Good Luck!
First thing you do is unplug it. It's usually the front roller. Push in and to the left or right, it should catch. Pull the old belt off, replace with a new one. Push in again and move right and left, it should uncatch and spring back into place.
Push the front of your sander (wheel) into your work bench. This should move the wheel in ward allowing the belt to be removed. Put a new belt on following the arrows pointing in the turning direction and push the wheel forward. Now your are ready to go. Start sander and adjust best by turning knobs.
