Help me troubleshoot my refrigerator please!?
Question:My frige works great for about 2 months at a time, then the freezer freezes up behind the back panel and the frige does not get cold enough. I have to completely empty and defrost the whole thing and then the cycle starts over again. When I turn the temp control knob in the back of the freezer I can definatley tell there is ice/frosting going on. Any advice on what I need to do would be awesome!

All cooling takes place in the freezer only. It relys on the fan to cool the refrigerator side. Once it ices it blocks the air flow the refrigerator section is the first to warm up. You have three choices. The defrost timer is not advancing, bad defrost heater or an open defrost terminating thermostat. The temp. control knob (thermostat) does not start the defrost cycle. If you are advancing the defrost timer and not the thermostat and you hear the heater hissing after a few minutes. Replace the timer.
Time for a new frig. and this time get a frost free. Mine did the same thing.
If it's supposed to be frost free it might be your defrost timer. That, or maybe your thermostat.
Maybe it is turned down too low?
