Can you use blacktop sealant on a concrete driveway?

Question:My concrete driveway looks like crap with holes and loose gravel and the like. It was never sealed or poorly done to start with. I cannot afford a new one or even to have it recoated. Can I use blacktop sealant on it? I would like to have it black as well.

Answers:
I found this for you instead. It sounds ideal for your purpose, and it comes in black.

The part I especially like is where they say that it resists weathering, and gas and oil spills (making them easy to clean up).

You can, but it's a bad idea.
If you'd like to have it black, then go right ahead. I will be fine. Normally you'd want to consider gray concrete sealant.
I think using blacktop sealer will create a big mess. You will be tracking it everywhere you step.
No you cannot use blacktop sealer. It is designed to bond with asphalt. It will never cure properly on concrete.

They do make sealers for concrete, check with you hardware store or home center.

Quickcrete makes an overlay product that does not cost too much. You might want to look into that.

You can use blacktop sealer on concrete it will cure properly and will not track up the only problem you will have if your concrete is already breaking up it will continue to do so because there is to much sand and not enough rock or not enough cement in the concrete. Also if you live in a area that the temperature changes a lot between night and day the concrete will sweat, and moisture will come up through the concrete and will cause the sealer to chip up off the pad.
