How do I keep the door nob to stay in the door?

Question:I changed the door handle because the old one was really old and it kept falling off in my hand. But when I got done with the new lock it fell off in my hand worse than the old one did. What did I do wrong?

Answers:
I guessing that you have the unit screwed in the door properly but that the knob itself comes off, leaving the round part in your hand and the stick part on the door. If that's the case there is usually a spring loaded clip that is on the stick and fits into a slot on the knob. Press this clip down when putting the knob on and make sure that it pops back out into the slot. If this isn't the problem you'll need to get more descriptive.

Most door knobs have a set screw on the side or an escutcheon plate on the knob that uses two screws to hold it to the door.
you need to properly fix the set screw
