Setting up a hot tub for the first time and need help.?

Question:I am setting up a tub for the first time and I am not sure what to do and in what order. I bought this used and the electrical will be done tomorrow... I think I should start to fill the tub now, but I dont know what I need to do before I fill it. Where can I find accurate instructions on what to do? Is anyone out htere that can explain it to me ?

THANKS!

Answers:
#1 you have to put the hot tub on a concrete slab not on the ground or patio blocks. you probably have 500 to 600 gallons of water in a average hot tub since water weighs 8 lbs per gallon you will have about 2 tons of water setting on what ever you put the hot tub on !. # 2 you should have a, g. f. c. i breaker installed for the power for your hot tub within sight of the hot tub ,to protect who ever is in the tub !!!! this is just the tip of the iceberg on what you need to do to own a hot tub ,you have lots more to learn. do you have a cover for the top of the hot tub to keep the heat inside the tub and dirt out? i have been repairing hot tubs and running electrical service to hot tubs for 7 yrs now.

let the guy hooking up the electrical part he will know where and how to put that part pretty much filling it up and puting the chem in it call a pool place and they can tell you the mixture that you will need

good luck
