I have 1 ft. of water left in my above ground pool. How do I get it out?
Question:We have to drain and clean the pool. Nothing else has worked. I lost suction with my pool pump with one foot of water left. Now the pool pump just sucks air. Is there a way to get the water flowing again? Do I need another piece of equipment? Help!
Answers:
most of us use a sump pump from the hardware store.
you can use a sipon hose but it will take forever, and after washing the liner you still need to empty the waste water again.
pools cost a lot eh?
Get as much out as you can using a bucket or bowl. The you can use a shop vac to get out the rest. Clean your pool with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar (no chemicals.yeaaaaa!!)
You should try to siphon out the excess water with a water hose.
Go to a pool store ~ you can rent or buy a pump that will take care of that problem for you. That or get a cup and scoop it out ~ lol (j/k)
Hi,
Easiest and cheapest will be to syphon it out with length of hose pipe or perhaps two lengths.
Remember one end must always stay in the water so put it in and put something on top to hold it down, but not squash it.
The other end has to be lower than the water level. It does not matter how far away you take it as long as it is lower.
To start the syphon you will have to suck the water till it gets up the pipe and over the rim of the pool, maybe just a bit further. It will go on its own then.
Suck hard, to lift the water, kink the pipe to lock in the air, then take another good suck un kinking at the same time.
You will get there in the end.
