How do I keep the chlorine level up in my pool?
Question:I have not been able to keep chlorine in my pool..5 - 1 in the am after adding the night before. My CYA testing at Leslie's 50 1 time, next time 35 and home strip says 30 -50. I have no testing for CYA. TA at 240 ( at home, LESLIE'S 210) PH 6.2, going to add Borax today. BUT, no algea (crystal clear water) for 4 weeks running. Will continue to dump Clorox in at night. 35 k pool with vinyl liner, sand filter, CA at 425 and 325 (Leslie's readings)Thanks for any help. Kathy in Ohio

I'm not real sure, but I think that the total alkalinity is causing the problem. I found a web site that has help for these problems. Try http://havuz.org
Clorine Tablets!
The chlorine in household bleach burns off too fast to use it as your regular chlorine treatment, Try buying some pool chlorine, and get a float with some chlorine tablets. Save the chlorox for when you need to shock the pool.
