How can I get Black Perment Maker off the walls?
Question:my 3 yr old son found a marker and wrote on his bedroom walls, the livingroom & hall walls. This babysitter was talking on the phone and did not see him doing it. As well it is all over my daughters (17 month old) legs. How do I get it off of her as well... I tried a bath but it just made it lighter in color... HELP PLEASE
Answers:
alcohol (not drinking it LOL) of the rubbing variety can get some more off. You may end up painting and even have to use a primer for difficult stains.
please find some humor in this even if it is hard to now
break fluid but be careful not to strip the paint though it be easier just to re touch the parts the fliud took off.
you can try a mr clean magic eraser, but you may have to repaint. as for your daughter, it will eventually wear off, but you can help things along by lightly scrubbing the area with rubbing alcohol.
Try hair spray. It works like a charm
You are going to have to repaint the walls. I don't know if Goof Off 2 will work on marker.
As for her, its going to have to wear off.
Try using some baby oil on your daughter; I know that removes temporary tattoos so maybe that'll work on that, not sure. On the wall you could try that stuff called, "Goof Off" and there's another one called "Eraser" and that one is made by Mr. Clean...those are both good but only work on washable paint so be sure your wall paint is washable prior to using either of them. Good luck!
For the walls: Baking Soda + Lemon Juice (make a paste)
For the legs: soak in salt water(lukewarm) and wash with that orange Goop hand cleaner (automotive product)
I have had success with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and also hair spray (it should an aerosol and Aqua Net works the best) You can use the hair spray on your daughter too. But like some have already said it will wear off on your son, and you may have to touch up the paint.
If you DO have to touch up the paint make sure you use blacking primer first so the ink doesn't bleed through. And just a tip if the walls are white and the paint is over say six months old (like when you're renting) the paint isn't going to match. Get a set of those little paint pots if available in your store, or just buy some lite tan/beige paint (cause your only going to need those little 8oz cans, not a gallon) and you can mix some in with the white to get a "aged" match.
Best wishes ( and prayers! I KNOW - I raised two boys and one was very "artistic! SMILE)
OH, and just remember it ain't the end of the world!

Rubbing alcohol. Our son made a habit out of painting himself with magic markers. It was really fun when he sucked on them.
No, we did not wash his tongue with the alcohol. But it works on the skin and walls.
