Tarmac question: replacing fire damaged area?

Question:We have to replace 35m2 of driveway because of a car fire.
We have had a few different estimates any one know how much it should cost to remove the surface and relay the base is only damaged directly under approx 2m2
Thanks

It doesn't really matter if the job is 2 square metres or 50 square metres, you still have to get all the equipment, materials and men out to the job. So a small job is much more expensive per square metre than a big one. They will have to cut back to a good square edge, seal that edge, remove all the damaged material, then lay new. Could easily be £1000. Can't your insurance company help with the cost?

rather than rip up the old surface why don't you ask for the surface to be TOPPED over with a 25mm of TOPPING tarmac ,it's usually a 6mm stone used and the old suface doesn't need to be touched.for 35m2 of topping at 25mm thick you will only need just over 2 ton of tarmac.
