I need instant A/C info.?
Question:My a/c unit in my home is broken. This is the delima. From the first day I moved in, it was broken. My landlord has told me numerous reasons and ways in which it needs to be fixed. I was told the unit at the back of the house was a new one, yet it has "frozen" up several times already. First, does that happen? Second, at first it was the a/c unit that is attached at the back of the house, then she said it was under the house, now she wants to go under the home and put the unit in my living room closet. which she will have to cut my floor and door, ect. will this be a noise pollution, does she know what she is doing? she also stated it was leaking, needed copper, ect. Since reporting her she now has all parts and ready to tear up my floor and closet to fix it. It just doesn't sound right. Any suggestions? If the central unit is in the back why is she taking what's under the house and putting it inside the house?

if this is a split system ( you already said it was) it is unlawful for anyone other than a licensed and certified freon handler (EPA) to assemble or diassemble any split system air conditioning or heat pump..yes the out side unit will freeze up,this usually indicates to much freon in unit...or if the larger of the twopipes is the onlyone to freeze then it is low on freon.lots of people have their inside unit in their closet..nothing illegal about this...why she is doing this is anybody guess...why she would buy all of these parts to change out unit without having unit checked by a reputable hvac tech is beyond me.if it was just a freon problem it could have been fixed cheaper than she bought all of those parts and the extra duct work she needs...
First of all that is not your concern point , if your renting then the landlord is responsable to fix it your not and if they don,t know perhaps you can suggest they get a repair man for home heating and air conditioning repair as your hot and if not fixed you will hold back the rent you have the right but first try being nice when speaking with them
