A/C unit differences?

Question:Can a "window" A/C unit be used "through the wall"??

Answers:
The answer is yes. But although cheaper the window unit is more noisy and I prefer the split unit type where the outdoor compressor can be placed away from the inside of the room or house and the indoor unit is merely 'hung' on the interior wall. More esthetic and quieter, as well as energy efficient.

Yes. I have seen houses built that way for that reason
Tho a "Window A/C" can be used in a wall application, it isn't designed to do so. A "Wall A/C" has a Sleeve and the A/C can be removed for cleaning and servicing and is a better choice. You need to keep this in mind, if it breaks how will you service it?
i assume you wanna install it in your room..First there should be a hole in your wall that will fit the outside dimension of the ac make at least half an in allowance so you can slide it easily and have room to have the back end slightly tilted so as to make the water from aircon drip outside and not stay inside youre ac.Make sure also that the back end has ample space outside for the hot exhaust air to dissipate easilly. So yes it is definitely possible as long as ur directing the hot air exhaust to a place that is open space.
yes
yes if it has side panels they have to be removed.
Yes. Make the cutout a few inches larger than the unit's side and top. Fashion a pan for the bottom and flare it up the sides a bit (aluminum sheets and rolls at Home Depot). Slide the unit in. Push insulation around the unit, do not block the vents. Trim as needed on the inside. You can fashion a screen around the outside to keep yellow jackets, etc from nest building.
