The water and ice from my refrigerator kinda smells weird. It is a GE and does not have any filters.Any ideas?

Question:The water outlet directly connects to the refrigerator and no water filters are involved - so there is no replacing of the filters required.

Answers:
run some of the old water and ice out of it, its just been sitting there too long and got that stale freezer smell in it.

Call the manufacturer.in the meantime do not use!!
I have a GE refrigerator also & I fill a glass two or three times a day, just to keep the water flowing from the water dispenser. I do the same for the ice as well. It seems to help with the smell/taste.
You can easily install a filter in the water line.
You may have some safe yet funky water like we do. Not much you can do about it, other than dump out your ice cube tray about once a week and allow the ice to form again. This keeps it fresher and less apt to smell like chemicals or the stale freezer. If you're using a lot of ice like for guests and stuff, let it sit out in the open air for a few minutes before you serve it. This will help.
