I cannot find the fuse box in my house. I do not have the floor plans and two of my sockets don't work?

Question:Where should I start looking?

Answers:
Find where the outside power meter is, usually a grey box with a white dial and various other dials inside, and your fuse box should be in very close proximity to it. On my house, my power meter is on my back porch and my breaker panel is in the basement almost directly under it. On my parents house, the outside power meter is by the back door and the breaker panel is directly inside the door in the laundry room. This is almost always a good way to find it.

Keep in mind, some houses have a main breaker panel and then sub-panels in the attic or elsewhere. The sub panels are ways to increase the number of circuits that are available. For instance, your main breaker panel has 20 available spots for breakers. You can install another sub panel (a smaller breaker box) that has an additional 10 breakers in it. This is especially handy when your main breaker panel is in the basement and you can put a sub panel in the attic so you don't have to run down & up two flights of stairs when you flip a breaker. You just go into the attic (1 flight of stairs) and flip it. Good luck!

Garage, master bedroom closet, near washing machine/dryer hook up.
look out side on the side of the house, ask a neighbor,

look behind doors, sometimes they are in the dumbest places
they are usually beside the meter if you dont know where this is try your next door neighbor see where it is in there house and try there first
Look on the outside of the house for the place where the powerlines are connected. This should look like a large pipe. At one point the pipe will connect to an oval or rectangular box. the fuse box should be directly on the other side of the wall at that place.
It has to be somewhere garage, outside, in a closet most of the time its close to your meter in most case's once you find it check your fuse's or breakers replace fuse's if blown or reset the breaker
