How long to wait before getting into a pool after you have shocked it.?
Question:Our pool got really dirty really quick and the store guy said we need to shock it , but did not tell us how long we needed to wait to get into the pool. Please help really wanting to go swimming its hot here in Tx. Thanks!

All shock does is super chlorinate the pool water and as long as your not swallowing the water and not opening your eyes under water I'd say a couple (2) hours would be alright. So cool off and have fun. Besides if it's real sunny and hot your chlorine is getting eaten up quick anyway!

Wait 4 hours then use your test kit. One of the ingredients of chlorine is syonide. It's not really enough to do harm if you follow the guidlines on the shock container. If there is way too much chlorine, your little ones could get ill.
