How to run an air conditioner using solar power?

Question:i would like to know if anyone has ever tried to run an air conditioner using solar panels. i know that pretty much anything can be hooked up to a battery to run it. How many solar panel did you need? 50 watts, 100watts, etc. and did you hardwire it directly or did you get some type of adapter for the ac plug to the solar panels. thanks.

Answers:
depends on type of ac unit you are talking about and how many amps it pulls...multiply volts times amps this gives you watts..so 30 amps times 230 volts would be 6900 watts or 6.9 kilowatts.you would need a power converter to change the voltage from dc to ac to run air conditioner or anything else...

I KNOW SOME PEOPLE DID IT WITH A FAN AND SOME COPPER COILS AND ALCOHOL ( RUBBING)
