How many ac outlets can i plug into a wall?
Question:each ac strip has 6 ac inputs and is for 125 v. what im asking is how much power is coming out of the wall?
Answers:
Multi-strips are plugged into a wall receptacle.
1- If you have 120 Volts (AC) the strip will have the same.
2- Usually these strips have a breaker that will trip if the current exceeds 15 Amps.
3- Power is measured in watts and is calculated by multiplying Volts (120) times Current in Amps (15) = 1800 Watts.
4- Most wall receptacles are on a 20 Amp circuit and this means they can handle 2400 Watts.
5- If you put 2 multi-strips into 1 duplex receptacle, you are trying to make 2400 Watts handle 3600 Watts which is to say the least is unwise.
6- You can plug in 12 devices to these strips and as long as you don't use all at the same time or use enough devices that the maximum load is NOT reached, the arrangement would work.
Good Luck, Be Careful and "SAFE"! ! !
ok there is 20 amp boxes ,i only run one thing of one box,
is it trips out ,you have over loaded the 20 amp.
a/c tend to run all by them self .on one single box much safer
Check the breaker that goes to the outlet and you'll know how many amps it is then you have to check the appliances you are running and the total amps can not exceed the breaker.
it doenst go by outlets UNLESS they are all on different breakers. They must be all on seperate breakers.
