Refrigerator warrenty or not?
Question:Bought new refrig. 10-05 quit 02-07 Sears wanted 607.00 to repair. We paid 750.00 new. Consumers Report says extended warrenty is not worth it on new appliances. What to do! We are using a used appl. right now.
Answers:
IF you paid for it via Visa or Master Card, AND the original warranty was for at least one year, the credit card doubles your warranty up to one year and they would fix it free. ~
I have done that!
If that doesn't do it, check with local outfits that repair fridges. Get estimates.
I have never been inpressed with Sears repair organization either in cost or quality. You might try a little guy repair service and see if he can't do something cheaper, maybe even better.
You could also conduct a war of words on Sears, write the better business bureau, go to Sears and talk to the manager and say you are not satisfied and they guarentee satisfaction, post nasty things about them on the internet chat sites that discuss appliances. Don't ever buy anything there again.
The only way they would charge you is if you screwed it up and it's not a warrenty issue. The ref. carries a full one year warrenty. I suspect since your not giving all the facts, it's your neglect, abuse, lightning , improper voltage, etc.
