When I remove an air conditioner from the wall what can I do to cover the hole. There is a metal sleeve.?

Question:The air conditioner sits in a metal sleeve so the outside is secure but now i have a hole in the wall that I can cover with a picture or something but what is the right way to cover it...thanks for your help.

Answers:
put some wall studs in and cover the hole with sheetrock; then your going to have to put the sheetrock filler on the sides let dry sand down prime then paint! you wont be able to notice you did it; just take your time!

A lot depends on what your wall is made of... is it plain painted regular drywall?
