Dryer problems?
Question:why do i have to restart my dryer at least three times before it will dry my cloths
Answers:
I had a used appliance store for years. It could be any number of things. The most obvious is the fact that it isn't able to reach it's full heating capacity. First check your exhaust vent. That would be the heat release vent leading to the outside. Every dryer has one. Most but not all apartments, houses or mobile homes are equipped with that as well. Your dryer should be able to release the heat to the outside from the dryer by way of an outside vent. That should be supplied by your landlord. Your hose is supplied by you. It is a simple connection. Just ask at your local hardware store. That is the first thing I would check. The second would be if it is obstructed by lint or any other forgien matter. You would be amazed at what can get into a dryer vent. I have pulled socks, shorts, and all manner of things out of the dryer itself. If you let it continue, it could do real damage to the appliance itself. Depending on how expensive your appliance is, you could be talking a lot of money. The third option I always looked for was a burned out heating element. No matter where the technology goes, it always comes back to a burned out element most of the time. Check your service manual. Call a local appliance parts warehouse. They can give you a lot of info on how best to fix your problem. If you can see your machine on the print out most of the time you can fix the problem yourself. All you need to give them is the make, brand name, and you need to remember to give them your model number. I retired happy from that same business knowing that I wasn't going to rip any body off. Still have customers that call me for advice. I'M Retired
could be because the dryer vent hose needs cleaning and it isn't allowing the moisture to disapate.
Could be a clogged vent, could be a clogged filter, could be half your heating element is burned out.
could be the heating element is on its way out is the lent screen clean
could be three reasons 1 the exhaust vent is stopped up with lint or blocked by something 2 the cycling thermostat is bad and is keeping the haet off for to much of the cycle 3 the cycling switch is not working at all and the high temperature sensor is cutting off and not resetting properly...check vent first and if it is not blocked or stopped up with lint then check the cycling switch...these are the problems most of the time..it would not heat at all if the element was bad
