Air conditioner at home - yesterday warm air was blowing out of the vents. House wouldn't cool down past 82
Question:What is the problem? A/C unit not even a year old.
Answers:
more than likely the capacitor has blown in the unit outside. I have seen them go out as soon as a month after install.
Or your contactor could have something in it like a bug keeping it from making contact. Call a tech out
It either has a freeon leak or you have a clogged filter.
Try cleaning the filter first...or replacing it.
Have you changed the filter lately? Also it may be low on freon even tho it is pretty new. Another thing is it may not be a big enough unit for the space it is trying to cool when it get really warm outside.
check the air filter
yu may get this problem due to uncleaned dusty filter.
or u can get this pbobs even if the gas in yur air-con is used up.
go n fill it up...
This happened to me this year for the 4 time. Every summer it leakes out froen somewhere different. I finally had to break down and replace it. I went up from a 2 ton to a 21/2 ton and I wake up with ice cycles every morning. I finally had to start turning it up every night. It cost $100.00 to have the leaks fixed and if you think about it $400.00 was spent to bandaid it and it only cost $ 3400.00 to replace it. So I hope you can just repaip it but if not its not as bad as you think to replace it.
Assuming is a central air unit and only a year old you need to contact the place that sold/installed it. Warranties on compressors (outsdie units) range from 5-10 years based on the brand.
Call them.
