Question:we just had ours repaired and I was told that the settings were reseted, but it cycles every other night, using up about a bag of salt every time.. is this normal?

It really depends on how much water you are using. We are only 2 people, showering daily, laundry once a week, dishwasher running every other day, and ours cycles once a week. But, you can get out your manual and reset the panel to cycle whenever you want it to. On ours, it is a matter of punching two pads to reset it.
No, it should be regulated by now. Call the people who repaired it and let them know of this. They should take a look and even correct it for free.
